According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, data shows that workplace violence is on the rise. Any threat of committing a violent action that is considered injurious, harmful, or oppressive to an individual at the workplace is considered workplace violence. Workplace violence can affect and involve employees, clients, customers, and visitors.
Receiving training in ways to identify and address workplace violence should be a high priority for safety, morale, and efficient operations in any organization. All staff members should know how to identify the level of workplace violence and the reporting avenue set up by the organization.
